I Heart Our Education System

I love the public school system.

For example, the fine Kearny School District which, in response to a student taping his American History teacher claiming that those who did not accept Jesus as their savior would go to hell and other great nuggets. I’m not even sure how this even comes up in a class.

Anyway, what would you assume to be the appropriate action to take with a teacher who claims that evolution and the Big Bang are not scientific, only Christians have a place in heaven, and my personal favorite: dinosaurs were placed aboard Noah’s Ark which is totally ridiculous because as we all know, dinosaur fossils were put here by the Jews. Or the Devil. Either/or.

Well, if you assumed that this teacher would be fired or at least be questioned about why he’s talking about this in AMERICAN HISTORY CLASS, you’d be wrong. No, apparently the correct action to take is to put a ban on recording devices in the classroom.

The school claims they took “corrective action” with the teacher, a Mr. Paszkiewicz, but would not specify what that action was. I don’t think it took since he recently compared those preaching about the dangers of Global Warming to the propaganda machine of the Nazis. Again, AMERICAN HISTORY CLASS. I mean forget about crazy. What the hell is lesson plan?

Monday: Talk about the evils of Harry Potter.
Tuesday: The Bible: Fact or Fact?
Wednesday: How Liberals Are Destroying American
Thursday: Eucharist
Friday: Stoning Non-Believers.

But applaud the school board because it’s important to teach our kids that it’s okay to be in a position of power and batshit insane as long as no one can prove it.
